Mountaineers Close Season with Tough Four-Game Stretch
Berea College softball wrapped up its season this week, playing four games and finishing 0–4 in matchups against Mount St. Joseph and Hanover.
Game 1: Mountaineers vs. Mount St. Joseph (Game 1)
The Mountaineers opened the week at home on Tuesday, April 28, hosting Mount St. Joseph. In Game 1, Berea fell 7–0, with Candice Williams recording four strikeouts in the circle.
Game 2: Mountaineers vs. Mount St. Joseph (Game 2)
In Game 2, Berea dropped a tough 4–1 decision. The Mountaineers held the lead for most of the game, but Mount St. Joseph scored four runs in the seventh inning to take the win. Emily Searcy accounted for Berea's run with a steal of home, while Kelly Wiard added two strikeouts.

Game 3: Mountaineers at Hanover College (Game 1)
Berea then traveled to face Hanover College on Saturday, May 2. In Game 1, the Mountaineers fell 4–2, with Josie Hollingsworth and Candice Williams scoring Berea's runs. Mia Lewis and Emily Searcy each recorded an RBI, while Williams added three strikeouts.
Game 4: Mountaineers at Hanover College (Game 2)
In the final game of the season, Berea lost a close 5–4 contest. The Mountaineers trailed 5–1 heading into the seventh inning and rallied to tie the game, but Hanover responded with a run to secure the win. Jessyca Searcy, Kelly Wiard, Mackenzie Howell, and Madison Howell each drove in a run, while Williams recorded five strikeouts.
