Isaiah Newby began his collegiate golf career at Berea College during the 2025–26 season as a freshman. A Berea, Kentucky, native and Madison Southern High School graduate, Newby joined the Mountaineers and quickly became one of the team's top performers during the opening tournaments of his freshman campaign. Berea's roster lists Newby as a freshman competing for the men's golf program.
Newby made an immediate impact at the Maggie Mountain Invitational in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, where he led the Mountaineers in his collegiate debut. He shot +11 in the first round and +10 in the second round, finishing with a two-day total of +21. His performance placed him ahead of the rest of Berea's lineup and made him the team's top finisher at the season-opening tournament.
Newby continued his strong start at the Forest Hills Invitational in Richmond, Indiana. He finished 52nd overall, shooting +16 in the first round and +13 in the second for a two-round total of +29. His +29 was again the best score among Berea's golfers in the tournament.
At the Heartland Conference Preview at Boone's Trace National Golf Club, Newby once again led Berea's lineup. Despite difficult conditions that included heavy rain and wind gusts reaching 30–40 mph, he finished tied for 35th overall with rounds of +8 and +13, giving him a two-round total of +21.
Newby's performances during the fall portion of the season established him as one of Berea's leading golfers. His consistent scoring and ability to lead the team in multiple tournaments highlighted an impressive start to his collegiate career.
