Decatur, Ga. – The Berea College women's basketball team continued their trek through conference play, coming away with their nine-straight win in a 91-44 victory over Agnes Scott (Ga.) on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, The Mountaineers improve to 15-3 overall and 9-0 in conference play while the Scotties drop to 0-16 on the season.
Berea was led in scoring by Senior guard
Bailee Vanover who recorded a career-high 29 points as she shot 13-for-20 from the field and collected seven rebounds. Sophomore guard
Aaliyah Hampton chipped in 17 points along with three assists. Freshmen guard
Drea Satori also had a career performance, scoring a career-high 15 points while sophomore forward
Destiny Combs corralled five rebounds to go with 12 points.
Berea was in the driver's seat the entire game, opening the first quarter up with a 24-point lead and went into halftime up 54-18 on their western division conference opponents at halftime. The Mountaineers had shot an impressive 54 percent from the floor and scored 17 points off 10 forced turnovers at the half. The Mountaineers offensively were led by 3 players at the half, with Vanover (19) and Hampton (15) scoring in double figures, and Combs contributing 8 points.

Trent Milby displayed his team's depth in the second half, with every single Mountaineer securing at least two rebounds each, outrebounding Agnes Scott 61-39. The Mountaineers offensive efficacy was on full display as Berea shot 50 percent from the floor as a team with four total Mountaineers scored in double figures – Vanover (25), Hampton (17), Combs (12), Satori scoring 11 of her 15 total points in the second half.
Defensively, Berea made their best impression of the 2001 box office hit
Oceans 11, forcing a total of 14 turnovers by the Scotties, with six Mountaineers securing a steal. The band of thieves was led by freshmen guard
Jayden Merriweather, who swiped four total steals, nearly half of the Mountaineer's 10 total. Berea used its defensive efficacy to score 21 points off turnovers.
The Mountaineers will be putting three winning streaks (nine-straight wins, undefeated USA South Conference, and home court records) on the line when they return home on Wednesday, Jan. 26
, to face the Scots of Marysville College (Tenn.) at 6 p.m. at the Seabury Center Arena.
