Berea, KY - In an exhilarating matchup, the Berea College Mountaineers women's basketball team triumphed over the University of the South, securing an impressive 69-49 victory. Led by outstanding performances from Atyia Moss and Jayden Merriweather, as well as a commanding presence on the boards by LynKaylah James.
Atyia Moss demonstrated her scoring prowess, contributing significantly to the team's success with 19 points. Her offensive repertoire and ability to find open lanes created numerous opportunities for the Mountaineers throughout the game. Moss's precision shooting and knack for finding the basket ended the night 8-12 from the field.Â
Jayden Merriweather's contribution to the winning effort cannot be overstated either. Merriweather showcased her versatility and tenacity, tallying 11 points against their opponents.Â
LynKaylah James showcased her dominance in the paint, leading the team with 8 rebounds. Her commanding presence under the basket disrupted the opposition's offensive rhythm and provided valuable second-chance opportunities for the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers scored 24 points off of Sewanee's turnovers.Â
