CINCINNATI, OH – Men's Soccer struggled offensively in a 1-5 loss against the Panthers of Mount St. Joseph. The Mountaineers initially took the lead when the Panthers committed an own goal 26 minutes into the match, putting Berea up 1-0. However, just over a minute later, they conceded a penalty kick that allowed Mount St. Joseph to equalize at 1-1.

From that point on, the Panthers controlled the match, scoring one additional goal in the first half and three more in the second half. Berea was limited to 10 shots, with only 3 on target. Despite receiving 4 yellow cards, the Mountaineers committed a total of 14 fouls, including 3 offside calls.
Goalkeepers Eris Acosta and Jad Rodgers combined to give up 5 goals, with Acosta allowing 4 and Rodgers contributing 6 saves. Victor Hernandez led the team with 3 shot attempts and was tied with Ali Furgerson and Tobore Takpor for the most shots on goal, each recording 1.
Berea will return to action at home against the Rose-Hulman Engineers on Saturday, October 12, at 3:30 PM.
