WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALL SHORT IN WITTENBURG FALL CLASSIC

SPRINGFIELD, OH- The Mountaineers participated in a tournament this past Labor Day weekend at Wittenburg University.

 Their first game of the tournament they faced Otterbein University but came up short of the win by 0-3, but served 26 kills throughout the 3 sets, from Deanna De La Torre, Adrianna Ocasio Fonseca, and Alexis McCullough.

In the second game of the tournament, they faced Baldwin-Wallace in a 0-3 lost. The Mountaineers struggled the first two sets but came close in the 3rd with a score of 21-25. The Mountaineers did have a total of 2 blocks from Adrianna Ocasio Fonseca and Alexis McCullough, and a total of 15 assists from Senior, Idymel Ayala Rivera, Brianna Negron-Torres, and Deanna De La Torre.

The Mountaineers final game of the tournament ended in a loss. They faced Wittenburg University, who put up 25 to our 19 the first set, and 25 to our 22 the third set. However, we did have 5 aces led by Nashaliz Garcia with 2, Idymel Ayala Rivera and Amelie Cora with 1 each.

The Mountaineers will host the next home game vs Spalding University at 7PM at Berea College.
